The Google Video

I almost thought that Apple and Microsoft is the best of what the IT world can offer. Not until, I saw this video. Their principles, thoughts, and innovation are something that deserves respect more than ever.

The day microsoft take over apple

Remembering the past is something that's really, really, really very interesting. I happened to watch a very cool video during 1997 at the heart of Macworld in Boston.

No matter how hard you look at it the people inside the event are very much frustrated including Steve Jobs. I’m so glad I found this video.

It is a privilege of mine to be here. In 2003, I was requested to be the commencement speaker for the graduating class of the University of the Philippines-Diliman. And after I gave that address, I said to myself-and this is true-the only other invitation that I will accept after UP Diliman is Silliman University. I have actually been waiting for almost three years. And I would have waited 30 more years to address you. You may be asking, "Why is that?" It is simply because of the Christian roots and the Christian heritage that this university has; the same roots and the same heritage that my great grandmother, my grandmother, and even my mother have tried to instill in my life.

That is why I am here. So thank you very m…

From Dog Meat to Froggy

July is a month that I should not take for granted because when it rains it pours in my place. For the past weeks, rains have gone none stop not until last Saturday.

Rainy season is something that makes my life more miserable than ever before. The unpredictable weather makes things difficult for me than ever before, small stores like the turo-turo ones are sometimes closed at your desperate moments, floods are everywhere, day dreaming on how it feels good to sleep is absolutely leveled in maximum persuasion, and transportation such as cars is suddenly morph from something luxury to a basic necessity to individuals. Too bad I don’t have one.

On the 13th of July 2006 was an absolute experience that would totally shook my insanity and forever changed into abnormality. I happened to forget my dinner and left it inside the canteen since, I was so sleepy and lazy enough to wake up at around 6:20 pm instead of the usual 5pm. As optimism as I can be I was hopping that there is one person who wa…

Our World Today Is Flat

At the last week of June, my family decided to take a vacation in Manila and visited me here in Cabanatuan. It was very exciting to see them together with my fairy god mother riding in a private car. As we eat together our lunch at around 2pm my mother simply can’t help but made fun of what he sees in my environment that I stay in. It was like her old town in Midsayap, Cotabato where everything is simple and not too modern as compared to Davao.

I can’t blame her if she acts that way because she is my mother and she’s simply concern about the future that I am heading thru.

Why go through all the trouble of working in a messed up company and considering a location where everything seems to be 10 years behind my own hometown? I can offer a very brief answer: because I could and because I must. Precisely because at the start of my career when I was still an employee I have been working with this project since the beginning and I was quite familiar with their flow. That is what I mean when …

Do-IT-Yourself Notebook

For the longest time, however, Do-it-yourself (DIY) Notebook was an alien concept for me in the computer sector. This is because even though I own one, I never really had experience a major problem that would require me to do the unthinkable. Thus, the concept of the do-it-yourself notebook was practically unheard of. That is, until now.

While time allowed me to see the things that scared me the most while waiting for my new hard disk to be available in Manila, curiosity and passion was enough to leave all the fears behind and take the risk to dismantle my notebook piece by piece.

There are a number of reasons why I have to do the unthinkable. In particular, I have never seen what my notebook looks like bare naked and I was very much excited, I was very much challenged by my friend Vernon when he told me that he already did it a number of times, it would be expensive to pay technicians to do the job as well as I just don’t trust them that much and what else choice do I have.

As I plan my…
